World AIDS Day 2018 – “Know your Status”

South Africa has the biggest HIV epidemic in the world, with more than 13.1 percent of society living with HIV/AIDS, according to a 2018 Stats SA report. The number has  increased from an estimated 4.25 million in 2002 to 7.52 million in 2018.nnCommemorated on 1 December each year, governments and all sectors of society join hands on World Aids Day to raise awareness and show solidarity for the global fight against HIV and AIDS.nnThe South African Red Cross has prioritized Health Education as a key element of HIV Preventive measures, as per the Government’s National Development Plan.
