Draw inspiration from these incredible women of the Red Cross to make changes in your own life, too. Women’s History month is a perfect opportunity to brush up on what females like Phuti Kekana have accomplished. Use that knowledge of their bravery to inspire you to take charge.
Karabo Kekana, also known as Phuti from Limpopo Provincial Office located in 56 De Klerk Street, Mokopane, joined the SA Red Cross Society as a volunteer in February 2016, she was afforded an opportunity to form part of the team as a Communication person in Limpopo. As an International relations and Communication graduate, “I had to volunteer for a local organisation to gain skills and put myself out into the workplace, the opportunity proved to be more than I expected as I ended up working for one of the biggest international organizations”. Phuti, gained a lot of life and learning experience, improving a lot on my writing skills, engaging with stakeholders and Media houses in the province, with guidance and grooming from management. The experience had an invaluable contribution towards self-development both in education and everyday life, she now has an experience in different cultures and social backgrounds through the lenses of the camera and it has been both fulfilling and heartwarming to see the changes in people’s lives with the remarkable work that is done by the Red Cross. Karabo, is currently working as an Information Officer for Limpopo Provincial Office, extending her experience and skills in report writing.
