Fire ripped through Marathon informal settlement, in Germiston

At least 150 people have been displaced following fire outbreak, that ripped through, approximately 100 shacks were destroyed in Marathon Informal Settlement, in Germiston.

The South African Red Cross has deployed teams of Disaster Relief experts and Community Volunteer to assess the damages in the affected area.
We are currently facilitating access to shelter, recovery of lost items, First Aid assistance and Psycho Social support.

We are appealing for in kind donations and funding to assist around 150 persons with Hygiene kits, warm clothing, nonperishable foods, blankets, mattresses, tents, household items, baby packs and clean water.
